Car #9 in the
Winged Warrior Series
Bobby Unser is one of the greatest race
car drivers in American history. Beginning with his winning the Indianapolis 500
on 3 separate occasions (1968, 1975, 1981) and being the first driver ever to go
over the 190 mile per hour mark at Indianapolis, Unser's racing career can only
be described as stellar.
In his 2nd year driving for Ray Nichels,
Bobby was seated in the #5 Nichels Engineering 1970 Plymouth Superbird. With his
stock car schedule limited due to his Indycar racing commitments, Unser's superb
racing skills were evident as he qualified the Nichels Engineering #5 Plymouth
Superbird never lower than 3rd spot on the grid, earning 4 poles in just 8
races.
Unser piloted Nichels Engineering stock
cars for three seasons, from 1971-1973, winning races and always running with
the leaders while competing in USAC sanctioned events against some of the
greatest race car drivers in America.

Car #8 in
the Winged Warrior Series
Knowledgeable racing fans recognize a winner when
they see it ... and Don White in his #3 Nichels Engineering 1969 Dodge Daytona
Charger is often recognized by "Winged" car aficionados as being one of the best
who ever piloted a "Go-Fast Factory" Winged Warrior. During the 1970 season,
White and Nichels Engineering did what they did best; racing up front with the
leaders. When the season’s results were tallied, White had raced 19 times
winning 4 races, earning 2 poles, along with 9 Top-Five finishes, 11 Top-Ten
finishes, and setting 4 track records.
With 53 career wins, Don White, one of the legendary
"Keokuk Komets", is the winningest stock car driver in the history of USAC (United
States Auto Club).
